Author Guidelines
Authors who wish to submit manuscripts to SCHEMA: Studies of Contemporary Approaches and Management are required to carefully read and follow these author guidelines. Manuscripts that do not comply with the journal’s focus and scope, formatting requirements, ethical standards, or submission procedures may be returned to the authors before the peer-review process.
General Requirements
- The manuscript must be original and must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication in another journal.
- The manuscript must be relevant to the focus and scope of SCHEMA.
- The manuscript must be written in clear academic language, either in English or Indonesian.
- The manuscript must follow the journal template and formatting requirements.
- The manuscript must be free from plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, and other forms of academic misconduct.
- All authors listed in the manuscript must have made a significant contribution to the research and writing process.
Types of Manuscripts
SCHEMA: Studies of Contemporary Approaches and Management accepts the following types of manuscripts:
- Original research articles
- Conceptual papers
- Literature review articles
- Systematic literature reviews
- Case studies
- Critical review articles
Manuscript Structure
The manuscript should generally include the following components:

| Title | The title should be concise, informative, and reflect the main focus of the study. |
| Author Information | Author names, affiliations, and email addresses should be provided in accordance with the journal template. For review purposes, authors may be required to submit an anonymized manuscript file. |
| Abstract | The abstract should briefly describe the background, objective, method, main findings, and contribution of the study. The recommended length is approximately 150–250 words. |
| Keywords | Provide 3–5 keywords that represent the main topic of the manuscript. |
| Introduction | The introduction should explain the background, research gap, novelty, objectives, and significance of the study. |
| Literature Review | This section should present relevant theories, previous studies, conceptual frameworks, or hypotheses where applicable. |
| Method | The method section should describe the research design, data sources, population and sample, instruments, procedures, and data analysis techniques. |
| Results and Discussion | This section should present the findings clearly and discuss them in relation to theories, previous studies, and the contribution of the research. |
| Conclusion | The conclusion should summarize the main findings, implications, limitations, and recommendations for future research or practice. |
| References | All cited sources must be listed in the reference section. References should be accurate, relevant, and preferably include recent scholarly sources. |
Formatting Guidelines
- The manuscript should be prepared using the journal template.
- The recommended manuscript length is approximately 4,000–8,000 words, including references.
- The manuscript should be submitted in Microsoft Word format.
- Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively and given clear titles.
- Tables and figures should be placed close to the text where they are discussed.
- All abbreviations should be defined when first used.
- Foreign terms should be written consistently and appropriately.
Citation and Reference Style
Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote to ensure consistency and accuracy in citations and references.
The journal recommends using the APA 7th Edition reference style unless otherwise stated in the journal template.
Authors should ensure that:
- All in-text citations are included in the reference list.
- All references listed are cited in the manuscript.
- References are complete, accurate, and written consistently.
- Recent journal articles are prioritized where relevant.
- Unreliable or non-academic sources should be avoided.
Submission Preparation Checklist
Before submitting a manuscript, authors must ensure that:
- The manuscript is original and has not been published elsewhere.
- The manuscript is not currently under review by another journal.
- The manuscript follows the journal template and author guidelines.
- The title, abstract, and keywords are clear and informative.
- The manuscript has been checked for grammar, clarity, and academic style.
- All tables, figures, and references are properly formatted.
- The similarity level has been checked and meets the journal’s publication standards.
- Author information and metadata have been entered correctly in the submission system.
Plagiarism and Similarity Check
All submitted manuscripts may be checked using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with indications of plagiarism, excessive similarity, improper citation, or unethical use of sources may be rejected or returned to the authors for correction.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts properly acknowledge all sources and comply with academic integrity standards.
Ethical Considerations
Research involving human participants, organizations, confidential data, or sensitive information must comply with appropriate ethical standards. Authors should obtain the necessary permissions, informed consent, or ethical clearance where required.
Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and acknowledge funding sources, institutional support, or other forms of assistance related to the research.
Review and Editorial Decision
Manuscripts submitted to SCHEMA will undergo an initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that meet the journal’s basic requirements will be sent for double-blind peer review. The editorial decision may include acceptance, revision, resubmission for review, or rejection.
Authors are expected to respond to reviewer comments carefully and revise their manuscripts according to the feedback provided by reviewers and editors.
